Steve 2010

Teamwork with Luise Dettbarn
Steve. is an experimental object. The idea was to use an elastic textile in the interior, in order to give ordinary furniture a special look. Additionally the textile replaces components and thus weight and resources. The design uses the flexibility and strength of the textile to create a dynamic and convertible furniture.
The fabric holds the construction together and adopts its shape, i.e. the boards and the content push through the material. While applying weight, the centrically fixed boards tilt. As a result the outline of the shelf changes depending on its loading - it reacts on its use with a playful silhouette.
